When safety depends on quick action, we respond

Emergency Support Fund for international basketball players

International high school and college basketball players living in the United States without their parents sometimes face urgent situations that can't wait — sudden housing loss, emergency travel, crisis transitions, or immediate needs that threaten their safety and stability.

The HoopsHome Emergency Support Fund provides immediate practical help when athletes need it most.

More Than a Safety Net

The Emergency Support Fund isn't a substitute for planning — it's a lifeline when planning isn't enough.

It's about ensuring athletes can get home safely during a crisis. It's making sure no young person is stranded, hungry, or without shelter because they don't have access to emergency funds.

We coordinate emergency support alongside our housing, mentorship, and protection programs to ensure athletes have both immediate help and long-term stability.

When something urgent happens, we move quickly.

What the Emergency Support Fund Provides

URGENT TRAVEL & TRANSPORTATION

Emergency flights home when family crises arise, urgent relocation when safety is at risk, bus or plane tickets during unexpected transitions, and travel coordination when athletes need to move quickly.

Support is based on urgency, available funds, and the athlete's immediate need.

EMERGENCY HOUSING & ESSENTIALS

Immediate placement in safe housing when an athlete has nowhere to stay, food and essential supplies during crises or instability, gift cards for groceries and necessities, and cell phones when needed for safety and communication.

We ensure athletes have what they need to remain safe and connected during emergencies.

CRISIS SUPPORT & PROTECTIVE EXPENSES

Urgent medical care or uncovered medical costs when athletes face health emergencies, legal costs tied to urgent protective situations (as applicable), and emergency expenses during disruption, transitions, or safety-related crises.

When an athlete needs emergency protection or immediate intervention, the fund helps cover costs that can't wait.

When Athletes Need Immediate Help

The Emergency Support Fund supports international high school and college basketball players (ages 14–22) living in the United States without their parents in urgent situations.

Athletes, coaches, school staff, mentors, or trusted contacts can request emergency support when:

  • An athlete has nowhere safe to stay tonight

  • Family emergency requires immediate travel home

  • Housing situation becomes unsafe, and urgent relocation is needed

  • Athlete lacks food, essentials, or communication access during a crisis

  • Medical emergency or urgent health need arises

  • Safety-related expenses can't wait for regular funding processes

Support is provided based on urgency, available funds, and the athlete's immediate safety needs. We respond as quickly as possible — often within hours — to coordinate emergency assistance.
